Welcome to the New Year. I hope you had a good break with friends and family.
As the administration changes this month, there will be many discussions about higher education as well as accreditation. At the Higher Learning Commission, we have worked with many administrations over the years and stand ready to continue open and productive communications on behalf of our members and your students.
In a recent survey, it was very clear that respondents want HLC to be ready to advocate on your behalf, which we will do. I welcome your input at any time about key issues being discussed at the state and federal levels that matter most to your campuses. There will also be opportunities to focus on these issues at our Annual Conference in April.
The HLC staff will be entering the phase of working on our next strategic plan, North Star. We are also gathering the latest trends in higher education, and needless to say – it has been quite a year! Best wishes for a successful 2025. We look forward to seeing many of you in the spring.
