Each year, HLC member institutions report information to us about their finances, enrollment, academic offerings and other data in the Institutional Update. We use this information to keep track of institutional health and identify trends in our membership.

New in 2025
Dual Credit: Credits Awarded and Student Head Count
In previous years, HLC asked institutions to estimate the number of dual credits they expected to award during the current academic year. This year and going forward, we will ask institutions to report the actual number of dual credits awarded for the previous academic year. In the 2025 Institutional Update, institutions will report dual credits awarded between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.
In addition, we clarified our instructions for reporting dual credit student head count. Institutions should provide the number of dual credit students enrolled between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024, as reported in the IPEDS 12-Month Enrollment Survey, Part C – Unduplicated Count of Dual Enrolled Students.
