Serving with HLC’s Peer Corps is an engaging, immersive experience that helps higher ed professionals grow their knowledge of accreditation while providing guidance to peer institutions. Want to hear some testimonials to the benefits of being a peer reviewer? Hear stories from current and former members of the Peer Corps, HLC staff and members of the Board of Trustees:

Interested in applying? There is still time! We’re currently accepting applications through 11:59 p.m. CT on Friday, September 20. Learn about eligibility for being a peer reviewer and who we’re looking for during this application period.

Prospective applicants will complete their application in Canopy, our system for institutional representatives and peer reviewers to manage their relationship with HLC. If you don’t have an account in Canopy, you can create one by following these instructions. The Canopy User Guide also includes information on how to complete each part of the application.

We again expect to have more applicants than available positions for new peer reviewers. We will give preference to applicants that meet one or more critical need areas or the Peer Corps Diversity Initiative. However, please note that meeting these need areas does not guarantee acceptance.

Before you begin your application, be sure to have prepared:

  • Two professional references, who will fill out a separate form that you must share
  • Your resume or CV
  • A cover letter describing your higher education background; prior experience with institutional evaluation and assessment, team leadership, facilitation, financial oversight, or other skills you think would be helpful for the peer reviewer role; and additional context related to how you meet the minimum qualifications and/or how you meet critical needs areas (optional).

Remember to submit your application, including professional references, by Friday, September 20 at 11:59 p.m. CT. We hope you will consider applying to the Peer Corps!
