Manage Account Information
Canopy users are able to edit their account name, email address, username and password at any time.
Important: Account information is separate from your institutional contact or peer reviewer record. Your account name and email address are only used to manage access to Canopy (to send password resets, for example). Changing your name or email address in your account will not update this information in your peer reviewer or institutional contact record. To update those records, visit your Canopy dashboard.
Peer Reviewers: Look Up Your SAP Concur User ID
The My Account page in Canopy now lists peer reviewers’ user ID for SAP Concur Expense, the platform that peer reviewers use to submit travel expenses. Your user ID will be listed under “User Information” on the My Account page. Follow the steps below to navigate there in Canopy.

Navigate to Account Information
- After logging into Canopy, click your name in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Click “Manage My Account” in the drop-down menu that opens. This will bring you to the My Account page, where you can edit your information.
Change Your Name or Email Address
- On the My Account page, click the “Edit” link next to the User Information section.
- Update your account name or account email address.
- Click “Save.”
Note: Other information displayed in this section, such as your primary organization or title, is not editable on the My Account page. That information can be updated in your Peer Reviewer Profile and/or your institutional role record.
Change Username
- On the My Account page, click the “Edit” link next to the Username section.
- Enter your new username and click “Check Availability.” The system will indicate whether the username is available or already taken.
- If the username is taken, enter a new username and click “Check Availability” again.
- If the username is available, click “Save.”
Change Password
- On the My Account page, click the “Edit” link next to the Password section.
- Enter your new password in both text fields.
- Note: Click “Password Tips/Requirements” to see the minimum requirements for system passwords. Passwords must contain a minimum of 8 characters and at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, one digit and one special character: ~!@#$%^&*()_+={}|[]
- Click “Save.”
Upload a Profile Picture
Canopy users have the option of uploading a profile picture to their account. The profile picture will only be visible to the user and system administrators. It will not be shared outside of the system or with other Canopy users.
- On the My Account page, click the “Edit” link next to the User Information section.
- Click “Edit” within the profile picture area.
- You will be prompted to upload an image file from your computer. Select the file and click “Open.” Please note that Canopy only accepts JPG, PNG, and GIF file formats for photo uploads.
- After you select your profile picture, click the “Save” button at the bottom of the edit screen. Your new profile picture will be associated with your account.
To change your profile picture, repeat these steps to upload a new image file.
To remove your profile picture, return to the User Information edit screen and click the “Clear” button under your profile picture.
